Inside this charming baby hat box is a natural and super soft 3 ounce ball of our mountain alpaca yarn raised on one of the premier alpaca farms in the country, Mi Madre Alpaca (Renick, West Virginia). We have this yarn custom spun by a mill that just works with alpaca yarn, so it is very well done.

The knit design incorporates a beautiful stitch that gives the hat wonderful texture, but requires some knitting know-how and is not recommended for a beginner knitter. Shaping the booties also requires some experience. A US #5 and #3 needle is used. Included with the kit is a cream colored grograin ribbon for weaving into the booties and adding a bow to the hat.

When you've completed the project, you can package the gift in the baby hat box decorated with a embossed leaf ribbon, which makes a special presentation, plus serves as a storage for this heirloom gift for generations.
